Yet another Kansas City Chiefs player has shown their support for Harrison Butker. Tight end Travis Kelce has finally spoken up for the maligned kicker.

Kelce said this on his and his brother’s podcast “New Heights” about Butker, “I’ve known him for seven-plus years probably, eight-plus years,” Kelce said. “And I cherish him as a teammate.”

Yet despite that, Kelce doesn’t agree with almost anything Butker said.

“When it comes down to his views and what he said at the [Benedictine College] commencement speech, you know, those are his,” Kelce added. I can’t say I agree with the majority of it—or just about any of it outside of him loving his family and his kids.”

“And I don’t think that I should judge him by his views — especially his religious views of how to go about life. That’s just not who I am,” he said.

Kelce also said that despite his not agreeing with Butker’s views, it does not change the way he feels about him as a person, which seems to be the sentiment of most of the people who have spoken up for him this week.

Butker has remained quiet since the controversy, which may be a good idea considering how many people feel about the Chiefs kicker right now.
