Kansas City Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce signed a three-year contract this offseason that will see him return to the franchise this season rather than retire, which many fans and pundits assumed he would do.
However, the future Hall of Famer wasn’t always inking million-dollar NFL contracts. In a recent episode of his New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason, Kelce opened up about an old job he held before he heard his name called in the NFL draft.
“I was the worst telemarketer in the f***ing world,” Kelce said in the episode, per Daily Mail. “I was slinging surveys for Obamacare.”
Fans reacted to Kelce’s revelation that he conducted surveys for Barack Obama’s infamous health care system on social media.
“From telemarketer to touchdown king who knew Obamacare surveys were just Kelce’s warm-up?” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“From annoying phone calls to being one of the best tight ends ever… what a plot twist,” someone else wrote.
“Life will humble you first before it blesses you… telemarketing to Super Bowl rings is crazy,” the same fan added.
“Imagine hanging up on a telemarketer in 2012 not knowing it was a future Hall of Famer trying to explain health insurance to you,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see what job Kelce holds once his playing days are finally up.
