Last year, the Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars were eliminated from the NFL playoffs by the Kansas City Chiefs. But it doesn’t like Lawrence or the rest of the team will be using that game as any sort of emotional motivation.

During a press conference this week, Trevor Lawrence made it pretty clear that this game isn’t necessarily about revenge from last year – it’s just another opportunity to play a great team.

“It’s a new year and we’re getting another opportunity to play these guys,” Lawrence said according to the Jacksonville Jaguars official team website. “We didn’t have a lot of success last year. We played them twice and didn’t win either of those games. But it’s a new year. We’ve both got different teams, it’s a new season. There’s a different set of challenges. You use that to prepare for this game for sure. You have to use the tape from the previous meeting, but you’re not carrying those emotions over. It’s a new season. We have to prepare for this game.”

We’ll have to see how Lawrence and the Jaguars fare against the Chiefs this year after losing in the playoffs last year. If the Jags are going to be a contender in the AFC, these are games they’re going to have to find a way to win.
