At some point during Sunday afternoon’s game against the Green Bay Packers, star Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered yet another concussion, possibly after slamming his head to the turf during a play. But even after the brutal hit, Tagovailoa was allowed to continue to play after he showed no signs or symptoms of a concussion. And it sounds like the NFL Player’s Association wants to know how that happened.

According to NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the NFLPA has launched a joint investigation with the league regarding how Tua Tagovailoa was allowed to continue playing with a concussion after his head was slammed to the turf.

“Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the NFL Players Association has initiated a joint investigation of the latest Tagovailoa concussion. It happened at some point in Sunday’s game between the Packers and Dolphins; during a play late in the second quarter, Tua’s head struck the turf,” Florio wrote for Pro Football Talk on Wednesday.

The NFLPA launched a similar investigation when Tagovailoa was allowed to return to the game after suffering an apparent head injury against the Buffalo Bills. That investigation led to rule changes and the firing of the Unaffiliated Neurotrauma Consultant that was assigned to the Dolphins during that game.
