The Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears held a joint practice on Friday, two days before the teams faced off on thier first preseason action of the year against one another. Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa did not have a great showing in the joint session, to say the least.
However, the Dolphins veteran doesn’t seem to be worried about his struggles, and has even managed to find the silver lining in such a brutal day on the field.
“Results-based, bad,” Tagovailoa said of Friday’s session, according to Pro Football Talk. “But then, within the process, I think those are good days to have, especially as you’re starting training camp. You go through training camp with the team and then you face another team.
“They coach a little different, do things a little different. So, it’s sticking with the fundamentals and technique that you do every day. That’s all it was.”
Fans reacted to the statement on social media.
“We all struggle at different times. What matters is that you perform when the lights shine bright,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“JUST IN: Millionaire paid to play a game always finds a way to sell his failures to the highest bidder as a success story,” someone else added.
“Sounds like he’s been spending too much time with his fans,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how Tagovailoa looks by the time the regular season arrives in a few weeks.
