Miami Dolphins star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is in the midst of a pretty obscure, but also very impressive winning streak that he will look to keep going this week against the Denver Broncos.
As Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk points out, Tua Tagovailoa has won nine consecutive games against Super Bowl champion head coaches. And this week, he’ll have the chance to extend that streak to 10 consecutive wins if he can lead his team to victory over Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos.
More than that, if Tagovailoa and the Dolphins keep winning, he could extend that streak even further throughout the season.
“If the Dolphins beat the Broncos, Tua will get a chance to extend the streak to 11 in Week 8 against the Patriots and Bill Belichick, to 12 in Week 9 against the Chiefs and Andy Reid, to 13 in Week 16 against the Cowboys and Mike McCarthy, and to 14 in Week 17 against the Ravens and John Harbaugh,” Florio wrote from Pro Football Talk.
It’s a pretty insane streak, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on social media.
Is this the anti-Kirk Cousins effect?

Tua has got to be the MVP favorite right now.

Never have I seen so many cherry picked stats for one QB to try to make him out to be a top 5 QB. Give the Dolphins a QB with a real arm and they win the SB. Can only underthrow receivers so many times in a game.

Gotta make it to 9 before you worry about 14.

Obviously, it’s a team game and those wins aren’t just coming as a result of Tagovailoa. But this is still an impressive stat nonetheless.
