T.Y. Hilton in January 2022. Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (13) celebrates after a touchdown Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, during a game against the Las Vegas Raiders at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

When the Dallas Cowboys signed veteran free agent wide receiver T.Y. Hilton earlier this month, he wasn’t exactly the receiver most fans had in mind as team owner Jerry Jones has been insistent that the team was strongly pursuing wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and a signing seemed imminent. But even if he wasn’t who the fans were hoping for, it appears that he’ll be on the field helping the team this weekend.

During an appearance on his weekly radio show, Jerry Jones revealed that T.Y. Hilton will be active for the Dallas Cowboys for Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, and it sounds like he expects him to be an important part of the offense.

“He should impact us immediately. I expect him to be involved and counted on,” Jones said during his radio appearance, according to Dallas Cowboys reporter Jon Machota of The Athletic.

Before signing with the Cowboys earlier this month, T.Y. Hilton had played his entire 10-year NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts. He’s been named to the Pro Bowl four times in his career and has five different seasons where he totaled more than 1,000 receiving yards.

He may not be Odell Beckham Jr., but he could provide an immediate boost for this Cowboys offense down the stretch.
