The Pro Bowl Games is supposed to bring in the best football players of the year to play in what is now a flag football game, along with dodgeball and such. But with players missing it for the Super Bowl, players being injured, and some players finding ways not to go, it can sometimes be a case of getting anyone they can to fill out the roster instead of getting the best.

No offense to Tyler Huntley, but this might be one of those times.

The Baltimore Ravens announced that Huntley was selected for the Pro Bowl Games after Josh Allen had to miss the event due to injury. Huntley replaced Lamar Jackson after Jackson was injured, and Huntley didn’t exactly light the world on fire. Huntley threw for 884 passing yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions in six total games. Huntley was seventh in line (fourth alternate) to go to the Pro Bowl Games and joins Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence as the three quarterbacks on the AFC side.

Good for Huntley that he’s going to Las Vegas, and hopefully, there’s some sort of bonus attached, but those are not Pro Bowl numbers.

Many had thoughts on the surprise selection. Some made fun, some used it to point out that the game is meaningless, and some pointed out other AFC quarterbacks who deserved to be in that spot instead.
