Travis Hunter Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Travis Hunter (12) runs during the first organized team activity at Miller Electric Center Monday, May 19, 2025 in Jacksonville, Fla.

After going No. 2 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, the general consensus amongst most NFL fans is that dual-threat wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter will be a surefire star at the NFL level whichever position he chooses to play. But star wide receiver Tyreek Hill seems to think otherwise.

Hunter made his presence known this past season at Colorado, putting together one of the most impressive seasons in recent memory on both sides of the ball.

Offensively, Hunter recorded 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 16 total touchdowns. Meanwhile, on defense, Hunter perhaps shined even more, recording four interceptions and 11 pass deflections.

The Jaguars clearly view Hunter as a potential superstar in the making, which is evident based on where the organization drafted him. Notably, we have never seen a cornerback get selected with a top-two pick, and have only seen a wide receiver selected in the first two picks a handful of times, most recently coming in 2007 when the Detroit Lions selected Calvin Johnson Jr.

While most are sold on Hunter as an NFL talent, Tyreek Hill views Hunter a little differently. In a recent Adin Ross livestream, Tyreek Hill claimed that Hunter is “gonna be a**” at the NFL level.

Maybe there is some personal animosity between Hill and Hunter that most aren’t aware about. Or, maybe Hill really does doubt that Hunter is all that he is cracked up to be.

Either way, Hunter will have to prove his abilities to Hill, and everybody else, in his rookie season.
