It’s not often that an NFL superstar starts making plans for retirement at the pinnacle of their career, but that’s exactly what Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill is doing.

This week, Tyreek Hill appeared on the podcast of former Chiefs teammates Anthony Sherman and Gehrig Dieter on Sports Radio 810 WHB where he revealed some pretty shocking news that he is planning to retire from the NFL at the end of his contract with the Miami Dolphins following the 2025 season.

“I’m going for 10 [years], man,” Hill said on the podcast according to Pro Football Talk. “I’m going to finish out this contract with the Dolphins, man, and then I’m going to call it quits. I want to go into the business side. I want to do so many things in my life, bro.”

Hill said that while he will pursue coaching briefly, his ultimate goal is to move into gaming.

“So, I really want to get into like the gaming space,” Hill said. “I really want to get huge in that and that’s kind of what I’m doing right now. I’m using my platform, creating a gaming team [Soul Runner Gaming], which isn’t launched yet. It should launch by the end of this month. I’m going to just sign like different content creators, different athletes. I’ve just been working that, talking to different sponsors.”

It’s some pretty shocking news, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

We’ll have to see if Hill sticks to his plan by the time the 2025 season rolls around.
