The Miami Dolphins were searching for answers heading into Monday night’s game against their divisional rivals, the New York Jets. Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill helped to provide those answers with a strong first half in what ended up being the Dolphins’ first win of the season.
Unfortunately, the Hill was forced to leave the game with a brutal knee injury. The initial thought was that Hill suffered a dislocated knee, but now we know that the damage was much more extensive, via one prominent league insider.
“Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill has torn multiple ligaments in his dislocated knee, including his ACL, ending his season and giving him a long road ahead for 2026, source says. He’ll have surgery today to repair the significant injury,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.
Rapoport then followed up on his initial reporting.
“With surgery today, it’s possible that Tyreek Hill will undergo additional surgeries. There is no guarantee he’ll be ready for 2026. None of his 2026 salary is guaranteed now, but $11M (of $29.9M) becomes fully guaranteed if he’s on the roster in March, plus a $5M roster bonus.”
Fans reacted to the devastating update on social media.
“Drop him immediately. Then work on coaching and QBs. Fresh start. Moronically you could have traded him at the start of the year when many said take it and run. Zero value now,” one fan added.
“Yeah he definitely just played his last game as a dolphin,” someone else added.
“You’ll never see him in a Dolphins Uniform again,” another person added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Hill ever suits up for the Dolphins again.
