The preseason game between the Broncos and 49ers Saturday led to a lot of penalties.

The NFL preseason has often famed for silly penalties, and that was certainly the case in the clash between the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers Saturday. After a 49ers’ punt in the third quarter, the return saw five different flags, and referee Pete Morelli needed a long while to sort them out:

Here’s a rundown of the penalties, from SB Nation’s Harry Lyles Jr.:

  • Receiving team – Holding, No. 46
  • Receiving team – Holding, No. 81
  • Receiving team – Block in the back, No. 80
  • Receiving team – Personal foul, No. 2
  • Kicking team – Holding, No. 18

Somehow, that all ended up in an offset, so there weren’t any consequences. It did provide a remarkable preseason moment, though.
