Urban Meyer enjoyed a lot of success as a head coach at the college level, winning two national championships with the Florida Gators in 2006 and 2008 and one with the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2014. But things did not go nearly so well when he tried to make the jump to the NFL last season – he was fired before the season ended.

By all accounts, Meyer‘s stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars was a disaster. Not only did Jacksonville post a paltry 2-11 record in his 13 games as a head coach, but his tenure was riddled with off-field issues, including but certainly not limited to a viral video of Meyer dancing inappropriately with a woman at his restaurant and allegations that he kicked former Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo.

In May, new Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said his team was still healing after Meyer’s departure, and it seems the team still looks back on Meyer’s time negatively, with Jacksonville linebacker Josh Allen throwing shade at his former head coach when comparing him to Pederson.

“It’s a professional locker room,” Allen said of Pederson, according to The Athletic. “It’s a professional setting. He’s talking to us like grown men.”

Allen is directly contrasting the current locker room with the locker room under Meyer, meaning this is some pretty blunt shade he’s throwing at his former head coach.
