Over the past few years, the market for running backs in the NFL has progressively gotten worse and worse as teams are increasingly opting to sign younger and less expensive players instead of giving lucrative contracts to veteran stars. And it sounds like the veteran running backs are finally taking the beginning steps of coming together against the league.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, a group of veteran running backs has been formed to discuss how they can improve the current market situation.

“Per a league source, veteran running backs have organized a group text chain, during which they have been commiserating about the current market at the position — and brainstorming regarding strategies for improving the situation,” Florio wrote for Pro Football Talk on Tuesday.

According to Florio, the first plan of action from the group was to speak out against the market on social media, which several players did, including Derrick Henry, Austin Ekeler and Jonathan Taylor.

While complaining on social media and simply starting a group chat won’t do anything about the situation by themselves, simply uniting for a common goal could go a long way for these players as they fight against the changing market.
