Dalvin Cook and the Minnesota Vikings may be barreling toward a split. Someone spotlighted a suspicious move the team made on Twitter that raised eyebrows and fueled those concerning rumors about Cook’s status with the Vikings. Cook may be a post-June 1 release as the team heads in a new direction.
Ian Hartitz pointed out that the Vikings’ Twitter banner featured a significant swap. Running back Alexander Mattison, Cook’s backup, was put in place of the former Florida State standout.

Graphics are graphics, but Mattison is a backup running back while Cook is on the roster. But if the team isn’t planning for him to be on the roster anymore, it might make sense why they’d promote him as a featured attraction.
Many in the NFL world had plenty to say.

So have the Vikings all but ousted Dalvin Cook? It would be unfortunate if the team split this way as Cook has been an extremely productive player. He’s rushed for nearly 6,000 yards and 47 touchdowns in his 73-game career. Fans have named him to four straight Pro Bowls from 2019-2022.
He’s averaged a robust 4.7 yards per attempt which ranks him tied for 21st in NFL history. Cook is also fifth among active running backs, trailing Nick Chubb, Aaron Jones, Jonathan Taylor, and Derrick Henry.
Nonetheless, we have a long two weeks until June 1 and things might have just gotten very awkward.
