The Minnesota Vikings long quest for a new stadium finally came to an end this year with the opening of U.S. Bank Stadium. However, the stadium does have some quirks the Vikings need to get used to.

In a great move by the NFL, the Vikings opened up their new stadium against their arch-rival, the Green Bay Packers with a 17-14 win on Sunday Night Football. The stadium was packed, and that created some issues.

With 66,813 in attendance, U.S. Bank Stadium (the stadium that costs more than a NASA mission to Pluto) was extremely loud. At times, it might have been too loud.

“It’s hard in the stadium. It’s louder for some reason in the stadium. I mean there’s a lot of times we can’t hear the center. We could barely hear the snap count today a couple times, could false starts cause guys didn’t know when the snap was going you know. It’s not… I’m not saying it’s the fans fault, but I’m just saying that you know it would be nice if they just shut the f*** up a little bit. How about that? I mean it was great and they were you know when the defense was up it was phenomenal. When the offense is up shut up. Just shut up. I can’t say it any simpler than that. You know what I mean? They’re starting to screw us a little bit,” Boone said.

Boone is no stranger to speaking his mind, adding his own fans to others he has called out like Colin Kaepernick and Terrelle Pryor.

Boone’s comments may be harsh, but give him credit because he gets right to the point. When he was playing for the Colts, Peyton Manning made a habit of motioning for the home crowd to be quiet while his offense was on the field. Other quarterbacks around the league have followed suit to try to keep the home crowd’s noise to a minimum for their offense.

The Vikings hit the road to play the Carolina Panthers next week before returning home Monday October 3rd to face the New York Giants.
