TMZ Sports has reported that D’Aundre Holmes-Wilfork, son of former New England Patriots legend Vince Wilfork, pleaded guilty this month to stealing Super Bowl rings, AFC championship rings, a national championship ring, and other possessions from his father.

Court documents say that Holmes-Wilfork pleaded guilty to felony theft of property greater than or equal to $300,000 as part of a plea deal that he made with prosecutors. For his plea, he received five years of deferred community supervision. So if he does not commit any further crimes or violate the terms of the agreement, the conviction will be removed from his record.

TMZ has previously reported the crime last June, saying at the time that the former NFL player had reported his Super Bowl rings, AFC championship rings, 2001 Miami Hurricanes national championship ring, and other jewelry had been taken from his home in Texas. The All-Pro nose tackle first noticed the items were missing in May 2020 but he was unsure if they were just in storage at the time.

A Patriots fan came across a post on a Facebook page that was a listing for Wilfork’s rings from Super Bowl XXXIX and Super Bowl XLIX and reached out to the retired player directly to see if they were legitimate. When Wilfork’s ex-wife reached out to the seller, that person claimed he purchased the rings from Holmes-Wilfork in 2020 for $62,000.

Holmes-Wilfork’s attorney told the Galveston County Daily News that Wilfork, who retired from the NFL in 2017, had forgiven his son for the theft.

This was not the first time D’Aundre had run afoul of the law. In 2016, he was kicked off the Houston football team for possession of large amounts of codeine.
