One of the biggest free agency moves this offseason was made by the Buffalo Bills, who were able to bring in veteran pass rusher Von Miller on a massive six-year deal worth $120 million.

Miller has been one of the best pass-rushers in football since his NFL arrival in 2011, making the Pro Bowl eight times in his ten-year career. He should have no issue providing an immediate impact on a Bills team that nearly made the AFC Championship last year, but his decision to join the Bills almost never happened, according to Miller.

Miller discussed his free agency this offseason with reporters earlier this week and said that he would have taken a pay cut to play for his childhood favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.

“I told them I was ready to come to the Cowboys,” Miller told reporters. “I would have taken less to go to Dallas because it’s Dallas. But I wouldn’t take that much less.”

Dallas reportedly offered Miller a five-year $70 million contract this offseason, but that was obviously a far cry from what he got from Buffalo. That was reportedly the same contract that they offered former Cowboys pass-rusher Randy Gregory, who decided to spurn them and join the Denver Broncos instead.

It remains to be seen how Miller will fit in Buffalo, but Dallas may grow to regret their decision not to offer him a comparable contract to what Buffalo offered if he has a big year, especially since they also lost out on Gregory this offseason.
