As the NFL Pro Bowl festivities are kicking off this weekend, one former Pro Bowl star appears to have found himself in a little bit of legal trouble this weekend as former NFL cornerback Vontae Davis was arrested in south Florida on Saturday.

According to reporter Andy Slater, Vontae Davis was arrested for driving under the influence after he crashed into a disabled car on the side of the highway.

“SLATER SCOOP: Former NFL Pro Bowl CB Vontae Davis was arrested for DUI in S. Florida on Saturday. Davis allegedly crashed into a disabled car on the side of the highway, which then hit a person next to it. Cops found Davis lying down sleeping on the shoulder of the road,” Slater said in a tweet.

Slater explained more about the incident in a subsequent tweet.

“Vontae Davis told cops he had two mixed drinks and was coming from a club, sources say. When asked why he was sleeping on the side of the road, he said ‘I was tired.’ The person who got hit was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries,” Slater said.

It’s certainly a wild situation and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter, with many making jokes about his decision to retire from the league halfway through a game.

Davis played 10 seasons in the NFL before abruptly retiring at halftime of a game in 2018. He made two Pro Bowls throughout his time in the league.
