The NFL world has been buzzing about the potential sale of the Washington Commanders. The chickens are coming home to roost for incumbent owner Daniel Snyder, who might not be for long in the NFL anymore. In fact, Snyder has plenty of things to worry about right now. The looming sale of the Commanders is getting attention from all corners and a big potential buyer is already showing interest.
So just how much will the club cost? Fox Sports insider Jay Glazer offered clarity on the subject Sunday morning on Fox NFL Sunday:
FOX: The Washington #Commanders franchise is expected to sell for as much as $7 billion and the sale is expected to take place within the next 6 months. pic.twitter.com/oMNDmU3g6Z

“The Washington Commanders franchise is expected to sell for as much as $7 billion,” Glazer said by way of a tweet from Dov Kleiman.
That figure comes as no real surprise. In Forbes’ published list of the most valuable NFL franchises, the Dallas Cowboys sit at the top with a value of $6.5 billion. The New England Patriots, New York Giants, and Los Angeles Rams are all worth at least $4.8 billion according to Forbes, as those are the most valuable franchises in the league.
Obviously, that’s an absurd amount of money. Considering that the potential buyers include Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, it makes sense that many are connecting the dots for him or someone of his status to buy the club.
