The Washington Redskins organization must be feeling like the living embodiment of Bad Luck Brian after a nearly flawless performance still resulted in a 31-26 Thanksgiving loss.

The Redskins accomplished the rare feat (noted by Bob Strum of Sportsradio 1310) of becoming the 33rd team in league history to amass 500+ yards, not commit a single turnover or allow a single sack in NFL history. Amazingly, Washington became just the second team ever to lose when pulling off the feat:

The Skins managed to put 26 points on the board and didn’t turn the ball over and still lost. So what was Washington’s Achilles heel? They couldn’t stop the run. Ezekiel Elliott rushed for nearly 100 yards and scored twice. Dak Prescott also ran for 39 yards with a score. Ultimately, the Redskins gave up 163 yards on the ground. Throw in an efficient Prescott passing game, the defense let the club down when the offense shown. It does’t help ninety percent of Washington’s offense was create via the pass, as the organization’s running game only managed 56 yards total.

As Fox Sports noted, the only other time a team put up those offensive numbers and found a way to lose was when the Vikings did it 1998 with Randall Cunningham and Randy Moss. Funnily enough, that game was also on Thanksgiving, and also against the Cowboys.
