Now that Bruce Allen has confirmed that Robert Griffin III will not be back in Washington next season, everyone will begin to speculate on where his next destination would be. Plenty of that speculation, at least informally, was circling around Houston, considering that RGIII went to Baylor and the Texans need a QB. NFL Network Insider Ian Rappoport added his own speculation:

This is all still speculation in these early days of the NFL offseason, but each of these locations could make some sense. If the 49ers as expected don’t keep Colin Kaepernick, Chip Kelly would need a QB for his offense, and since Griffin ran a similar offense to Kelly’s while with Art Briles at Oregon, it could be a natural fit. The Eagles too need to settle their QB controversy, but they seem to have set their sight on Nick Foles whom they just traded away if they do not get a deal done with Sam Bradford. Kansas City is interesting considering they already have Alex Smith but he will be 32 when the 2016 season begins.

Denver will need a backup to Brock Osweiler, presuming he returns to the Broncos and Peyton Manning retires, but it is doubtful that RGIII will want to take another backup job. And never count out the Cowboys in situations like this.

We know RGIII will not be plying his trade in Washington next season. The question is where, and with just a few weeks left to free agency, there isn’t any clarity as to where his new home might be.
