New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson‘s name has been in the headlines for bizarre reasons lately. His ex-girlfriend claims he had a relationship with one of his mom’s best friends, after social media trolls grilled her for dating one of Wilson’s former teammates at BYU.

Instead of getting a negative reaction, the Jets quarterback actually was the toast of the NFL media for that week, with many across the league making jokes about the unusual situation. That includes Wilson himself,  who asked if he was missing anything in a hilarious Instagram post on Instagram.

In what seems like an effort to cheer up his new quarterback, tight end C.J. Uzomah was caught heading into the Jets training facilities in Florham Park rocking a mock Time‘s “Person of the Year” shirt with a picture of Wilson smack dab in the middle.

Many on Twitter had many reactions to Uzoah’s unwavering support of his quarterback.

The former Cincinnati Bengals tight end signed with New York this offseason and has started to form somewhat of a bond with Wilson, having appeared together at a New York Yankees game last month.

Wilson’s mother Lisa, has denied the salacious rumors, telling people on Instagram to stop calling her friends. She even claimed that paparazzi were “hiding out in the parking lot” of her fitness facility to snap photos of her.

Gile is currently dating Washington Commanders wide receiver Dax Milne, who was Wilson’s college roommate at BYU.
