To those who appreciate a good ol’ fashioned hockey fight, I’m going to apologize in advance. This goalie fight in AHL play Saturday night was really painful, and I don’t mean that in the physical sense. Though that may be a good thing.

In a game between the Providence Bruins and Hershey Bears, a fight broke out between the two teams in the middle of the game. With the goalies just standing around not doing anything while the others are dropping the gloves, they decided to get into it. I don’t really know what they were “getting into” but it sure wasn’t a fight.

The two goalies are apparently friends and former teammates so that would explain why they weren’t throwing haymakers from deep. But even if they were attempting to choreograph a fight like in WWE, it looked bad. This fight looks like it was done in slow motion. The punches were so slow and deliberate that anyone could see them coming. And then the two hug at the end. Displaying good sportsmanship is great and all but like in WWE, keep up with the appearance that you .

Anyway, if I had to score the fight, I at least give the Hershey goalie points for pulling the jersey over the head of the Providence goalies so Hershey gets the win by majority decision.
