Scott Darling may be the Chicago Blackhawks’ backup goaltender to Corey Crawford, but you would’ve come away from the team’s game on Monday night thinking Darling is one of the top goaltenders in the league.

Darling stopped 35 of 37 Toronto Maple Leafs shots in a 7-2 Blackhawks blowout victory at the United Center, and his most incredible save of the night may just be the most incredible save of the 2015-16 NHL season.

Watch Darling look like a Gold Glove shortstop with a ridiculous diving save to rob the Leafs’ Nick Spaling in the second period:

The 27-year-old Darling is listed at 6’6″, and he definitely used his height to his advantage on that sprawling glove save.

It was an amazing save, and it’s still not even as awesome as the story of Darling recently going out of his way to help a stranger in need.
