Like many other NHL stars, Ottawa Senators captain Erik Karlsson decided to get married this summer and had a beautiful wedding. Unlike many other NHL stars, Karlsson decided to use his honeymoon as an opportunity to deliver an impromptu public service announcement on littering.
Karlsson and his wife set off to the St. Regis Bora Bora Resort for their honeymoon, but unfortunately their luggage didn’t make it to their destination. Instead of focusing on what had to be a horribly depressing situation, Karlsson kicked off their trip with some bubbly. And a message on littering.
“We don’t throw shit in the ocean.”
His message may be a bit too blunt for a billboard, but it perfectly sums things up. Don’t throw your trash into the ocean. Actually, don’t throw it anywhere besides a trash can. It’s really that simple.
Props to Karlsson for keeping something even as small as a cork out of the water. Here’s hoping he and his wife have a great time on the remainder of their trip.
