Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane has struggled to stay out of trouble in his NHL career, and now an alleged incident from one month ago has been detailed in court documents, and it doesn’t look kindly on the Sabres star.

WKBW in Buffalo obtained the court documents that detail the incident which occurred at a Buffalo bar the night of June 24th.

In a sworn statement, one of the female accusers says Kane told her she was going to come to his house and “she was going to like it.”

Kane allegedly grabbed her neck with both hands and pulled her close to him.

“It was like I couldn’t breathe. It hurt,” the complainant wrote.

At another time during the evening, Kane was alleged to have gone over to the same woman and pulled her hair back, and that Kane does this every time she sees her. And the troubles for Kane don’t stop there.

A bouncer at the club also filed a complaint that is included in the court documents. He received a text around 3 AM which said that “Kane’s gotta go now” after he heard that Kane grabbed someone by the throat. The bouncer then told Kane about the incidents to which he replied, “I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear you.” The bouncer then claims to have been pushed against a register on the wall and Kane threatened to kill him.

Kane turned himself in to Central Booking last Friday after the allegations grew from the incidents. He’s been charged with four separate counts of non-criminal harassment and one count of criminal trespass, which is a misdemeanor. He will appear in court August 1st.

Kane’s attorney, Paul Cambria, says he has seen the allegations and video which purports to support the allegations.

“I don’t agree with the allegations at all,” Cambria said. “I don’t think they’re substantiated by the videos.  My client maintains he has done nothing wrong.”

Cambria says Kane will plead not guilty.

The Buffalo Sabres released a statement about Kane’s arrest, saying, “We are aware of the charges against Evander Kane stemming from an incident last month. Our organization will have no further comment at this time.”

Kane has already faced legal trouble in Buffalo. He was accused of sexual assault stemming from an incident last December, but there were no charges filed due to a lack of evidence.
