Two brothers who play in the NHL shared a rather hilarious and embarrassing moment on Friday night.

The Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins took the ice on Friday night. On Ottawa’s side was forward Mathieu Joseph. Elsewhere, on Pittsburgh’s side, was P.O. Joseph. The two are brothers and their parents attended the game on Friday night as well.

So what winds up happening? Both of them landed in the penalty box at the exact same time.

As ESPN wrote, the brothers “lived out a childhood dream when they played each other for the first time in the NHL on Friday night in Pittsburgh. Neither player recorded a point in Pittsburgh’s 4-1 win, but they did enter the box score together when they drew coincidental high-stick penalties while their parents, Frantzi Joseph and France Taillon, watched from the stands.”

The parents had a great laugh at it. In that case, I mean, what can you do but laugh?

Their first game against each other and they land in the penalty box… after committing the same penalty. You can’t write this stuff, sometimes.

Mathieu was not pleased though. “I don’t know if they thought this was going to be funny or something, that we both get a penalty at the same time. But stuff happens. I’m sure my parents had a good laugh about it but I didn’t think it was funny,” he said.
