The 2022 Stanley Cup Final certainly looks like it will be a thriller.
The Colorado Avalanche took down the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 in overtime of Game 1 on Wednesday night in Denver.

Colorado jumped out to a 2-0 lead and then led 3-1 into the second period. Tampa Bay scored two goals that were under two minutes apart in the second period to tie the game in the second period before each team failed to score in the third period.
This would’ve been a frustrating loss for the Avalanche at home after appearing to be in full control well into the second period, but in the end, they got it done to take a 1-0 series lead.
The Avalanche entered as the series favorites, but the Lightning are the back-to-back defending champions. As Game 1 showed, the Stanley Cup Final should be a heck of a battle, and very possibly a deep series.
