After two disappointing defeats in Pittsburgh, you wouldn’t think the Nashville Predators would be feeling too confident heading into Game 3. However, as they prepare to take the ice in front of their fans for the first time in the Stanley Cup Final, the Predators sound more confident than ever.

P.K. Subban might be the most confident of the bunch, telling reporters that his team will win Game 3 and then see where things go from there.

Is Subban being a bit too confident with his team trailing 2-0 in the series? Is he just trying to rally behind the fact his team has been statistically solid (minus their goaltending) in the first two games? You could argue it either way and the outcome of that argument probably hinges on your general thoughts on Subban. He’s trying to say that the Predators are going to take things one game at a time, but it came out a bit differently than he may have intended.

The Predators have dominated the Penguins in several statistical categories, but they’ve been completely let down by goaltender Pekka Rinne. If Rinne was playing good or even decent hockey, the Predators might find themselves in a very different situation. They’ve controlled the majority of the possession. They’ve outshot the Penguins 64-39. Still, you can’t allow nine goals and expect to win.

Will Subban’s belief that his team will win Game 3 come true? We’ll find out on Saturday.
