The Washington Capitals beat the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final on Thursday night to win their first championship in franchise history.
It’s been a very elusive Cup for the Capitals, a team that won the Presidents’ Trophy the previous two seasons and has annually been one of the favorites on paper, but kept having their seasons end in disappointment. Until now.
