The 2019-20 NHL season is almost here, which means it might be time to finally move on from the 2018-19 season. We’ve already talked about the five questions you should watch in the new season, but let’s quickly discuss one last question from the previous season: Which player had the top-selling jersey during the 2018-19 season?

The NHL’s official store and Fanatics teamed up to answer that very important question. You’ll find a familiar list of characters on the list, but a few names might surprise you.

Full list:
1. Sidney Crosby
2. Alex Ovechkin
3. Auston Matthews
4. Marc-Andre Fleury
5. Patrice Bergeron
6. Patrick Kane
7. Jordan Binnington
8. Vladimir Tarasenko
9. Jonathan Toews
10. Connor McDavid
11. Brent Burns
12. Brad Marchand
13. John Tavares
14. Claude Giroux
15. Mitchell Marner

It should come as no surprise that Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin are once again found at the top of the list. The two continue to be some of the most popular players in the league despite a younger guard beginning to take over. That younger group is well represented on the list as well, as seen in Auston Matthews, Mitchell Marner and Connor McDavid cracking the top 15.

Let’s talk names we didn’t expect to see. There’s no doubt that Marc-Andre Fleury has a loyal following, but did anyone honestly expect him to have the fourth-best selling sweater in the NHL? His popularity extends well outside of Vegas. Jordan Binnington is also a bit of a shock at the seventh spot even with his Stanley Cup championship, considering he didn’t even start his first game last season until January.

While we can probably expect a large percentage of these players to repeat in 2019-20, which players do you think will crack the top 15 for the first time?
