U.S. Olympian and Gold Medalist Mikaela Shiffrin shattered a historic record on the slopes.

The celebrated skier became the all-time leader in skiing World Cup victories. She broke a tie with the illustrious Lindsey Vonn with her 83rd victory in The Kronplatz in South Tyrol, Italy.

The U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team tweeted about the major news. “Mikaela Shiffrin WINS!!!! HISTORY IS MADE!!!!” they exuberantly tweeted. They noted that Shiffrin is now the winningest woman alpine skier in history and that the win came on The Kronplatz, a mountain in Italy.

FIS Alpine provided a video of the historic run by Shiffrin. She scorched down the slopes and made an extremely difficult skill look easy for the umpteenth time. Shiffrin stands as one of the most dominant athletes in the world today.

It’s just another accolade for Shiffrin, who has already accomplished so much in her young career. The 27-year-old is already a five-time World Champion, a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, and a six-time Gold Medalist at the World Championships. This all after beginning her career on the slopes at age 15.

She has won the Olympic Gold in Slalom, her strongest event, and ain’t Slalom. She’s recorded 51 first-place podiums in World Cup races, by far the most out of the now-record 83 in her incredible career.
