Former NFL star quarterback Brett Favre has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons last year when news broke that he improperly used state welfare money to help fund a volleyball stadiumbuild a football facilityfund his dubious “concussion cream” venture, and compensate him for public appearances, and there seems to be plenty of evidence against him. But that’s not stopping him from filing a defamation lawsuit against sports media personalities Pat McAfee and Shannon Sharpe, and his choice of lawyers is certainly interesting.

Given the large amounts of evidence against Brett Favre in this case, many people were stunned at his attempted defamation lawsuit, leading some to joke that Favre must have hired the same lawyers as former president Donald Trump. As it turns out, that’s exactly what he did.

As reporter Ashton Pittman of the Mississippi Free Press pointed out on Twitter, Favre actually does employ one of Donald Trump’s lawyers, hiring Eric Herschmann, an Austin, Texas-based attorney who has previously served as one of Trump’s attorneys.

It’s an absolutely wild and unbelievable move, and the Twitter world had plenty to say about it.

It’s certainly a bold move from Favre. We’ll see how it works out for him.
