On Tuesday night, United States President Donald Trump delivered his first address to congress since taking office last month, but it did not go without controversy – and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy couldn’t help but weigh in.
During the speech, Rep. Al Green was kicked out of the speech for heckling Trump. He was warned several times by House Speaker Mike Johnson to stop interrupting the president, but did not stop.
After Green was removed, Dave Portnoy offered some commentary on social media as he called Green a “disrespectful prick.”
“I got no clue who this dude was but he just got booted for being a disrespectful prick and the crowd chanted Na na na na…goodbye,” Portnoy said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
“What a [expletive] show,” Portnoy added.
Of course, this is not the first time that Green has had a spat with Trump. Last month, he called for Trump to be impeached for his comments regarding taking control of the Gaza Strip and redeveloping it.
“Ethnic cleansing is not a joke, especially when it emanates from the President of the United States, the most powerful person in the world, when he has the ability to perfect what he says, ethnic cleansing in Gaza is no joke, and the Prime Minister of Israel should be ashamed knowing the history of his people,” Green said. “Ethnic cleansing has been a crime against humanity.
“I stand here to denounce what the president said, to denounce the complicity of the prime minister of Israel. Injustice in Gaza is a threat to justice in the United States of America. I raise to announce the movement to impeach the president has begun. I rise to announce that I will bring Articles of Impeachment against the president for dastardly deeds proposed and dastardly deeds done.”
Clearly, Portnoy was not a fan of Green’s antics.
