ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith has been pretty outspoken in recent months about the possibility of running for president as the Democratic nominee. And once again this week, he revisited the topic while also taking a clear shot at current United States President Donald Trump.

During his appearance on The View on Tuesday, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin brought up Smith’s rising favorability in Democratic polls and the growing speculation about a potential presidential bid.

While Smith admitted he’s not necessarily qualified for the position, he didn’t back down from the belief that he could defeat any challenger.

“I mean it when I say it. I think I can beat them all,” Smith said on the show, per Awful Announcing. “And I have no desire whatsoever to run for office, I am not a politician, I am not qualified.”

He then turned his attention to Trump, pointing out that the former president isn’t exactly known for his clarity or polished political skills.

“But I know this much, when you consider who’s on the other side and how he’s gotten away with saying very little in terms of being coherent and articulating his thoughts clearly and concisely and what have you. This is not something that he’s known to do. Yet, and still, he has owned the Republican Party since 2015,” Smith said.

This isn’t the first time Smith has teased the idea of a presidential campaign—he first spoke openly about it last month.

We’ll have to see whether or not he will actually choose to run for president in 2028.
