Washington, D.C., has been feeling the presence of two billionaires, as United States President Donald Trump returned to the White House following his win in last November’s presidential election, and he was joined by Tesla founder Elon Musk, who joined Trump’s administration as an efficiency expert.
However, it appears as if the high-powered partnership is at an end, per one prominent journalist.
“WASHINGTON (AP) — Elon Musk leaves Trump administration after turbulent effort to slash government, AP source says, ” reported Philip Lewis on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.
People reacted to the news on social media.
“If only this happened before handing over the private records of millions of Americans,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Got access to all that data, disrupted millions of lives, and walks away after the grift is done. We’re truly in the dumbest timeline,” another person added.
“Why are yall celebrating? He was always scheduled to leave in May because he was staffed as a Special Government employee which only lasts for 130 days,” one person added.
“It was a transactional arrangement. Musk got the felon the presidency and in return he got private information of millions of Americans. It was a mobster transaction,” someone else wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see what this means for Trump and Musk’s personal relationship.
