Former president Donald Trump has been telling political supporters that he will be arrested on New York State charges of campaign finance violations as early as Tuesday.

Whether he becomes the first former president to be arrested in American history remains to be seen.

That didn’t stop Trump from observing the NCAA Divsion 1 Wrestling Finals that occurred in Tulsa, Oklahoma, over the weekend.

Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-Oklahoma) told Tulsa News that the trip wasn’t political but rather was about showing Trump what Tulsa “had to offer.”

Mullin went out of his way to make the time for Trump.

“My boys actually made the ask down in Mar-A-Lago when we were down there,” Mullin told Tulsa News, referring to the state where Trump resides and where he also maintains a home. “When he found out it was going to be in Tulsa, he said, ‘I’ll be there.’”

Mullin seemed unconcerned about Trump’s current legal predicament.

“They’ve been after the president (Trump) since Day 1,” Mullin said. “The (Manhattan) district attorney needs to concentrate on putting bad guys in jail.”

The outlet noted that Trump received a “warm if not overwhelming reception inside the BOK Center” and that it “did not rival the attention given [to] the wrestlers on the center mat.”
