On Friday, a fiery exchange between United States President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy took the internet by storm. While there were many different reactions to the scene between the world leaders, one NFL superstar was quite pleased with what he saw from America’s leader.

Tensions flared near the end of their public meeting with Vance suggesting that Zelenskyy lacked appreciation for American aid while Trump accused the Ukrainian leader of “gambling with World War III.”

“You’re gambling with World War III. You’re gambling with World War III, and what you’re doing is very disrespectful to the country — this country — that’s backed you far more than a lot of people said they should have,” Trump wrote.

While the viral interaction has led to a lot of different views, legendary NFL quarterback Brett Favre seemed to think it reflected favorably on Donald Trump.

In a post on social media over the weekend, Favre praised Donald Trump and J.D. Vance for “standing up for American.”

“This was a bit unreal to watch. A foreign leader speaking to a sitting U.S. President like this,” Favre said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

“Glad Donald Trump and JD Vance are standing up for America,” Favre added.

This is not the first time that Favre has spoken out in support of Trump. Back in 2023, Favre offered his sincere praise for Trump as he explained that he felt like he was a president that was insulated from politics.

“I think Donald was a non-political president, and I liked that about him,” Favre said back in 2023. “Was he perfect? Absolutely not. Am I perfect? Absolutely not. I’m flawed just like the rest of ’em. We’re all flawed. But, I really felt like he had our country in a better place and really cared about our people in our country.”

“Black, white, Hispanic, Asian — you name it,” he added. “I think if you were an American citizen, he cared about you, first and foremost. I don’t know if our current president has the same mentality.”

Favre went as far as to make a guest appearance at one of Trump’s rallies in October just before the 2024 presidential election.

Clearly, he seems to think that Trump and Vance have been doing a good job and have America’s best interest in mind.
