Donald Trump has been a busy man since returning to the Oval Office after his defeat of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in last November’s presidential election. Trump has signed a flurry of executive orders and his right-hand man, tech billionaire Elon Musk, has been making sweeping cuts to federal agencies.
On Tuesday, Trump met with reporters in the White House. In the media session, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine was broached, and according to Awful Announcing, Trump had a pretty wild take on the situation.
“What’s gonna be more challenging — a PGA-LIV deal or a Russia-Ukraine deal?” a reporter asked.
“I think the PGA deal is much more complicated,” Trump responded.
People reacted to the exchange on social media.
“How can he equate the death of people with the game of golf? sickening!” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Such a cavalier attitude about the pain & suffering of the Ukrainian people, and the courageous battle they have been waging in the name of freedom & democracy for 3 years,” one person added.
“Comparing the war in Ukraine with a Saudi golf tournament? This pompous (jerk) doesn’t deserve to even be on the grounds of the WH, let alone in the Oval Office,” another person added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Trump issues an apology for the statement.
