Washington D.C. lost the presence of a prominent billionaire, with Tesla founder Elon Musk formally leaving his role as an efficiency expert in United States President Donald Trump’s administration.
Unfortunately for Trump, now that Musk isn’t working with the President anymore, he’s making his true feelings on Trump’s presidency known, and they aren’t exactly positive.
“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it,” Musk tweeted on Tuesday.
People reacted to Musk’s tweet on social media.
“It’s kinda funny to see you throw shade at Trump’s spending now, especially since you were one of his biggest supporters and helped him win. You act shocked, but you backed the whole thing before. Can’t be surprised when you helped put the guy in power who’s running up the debt,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Trump LITERALLY met with congressional conservatives to demand they pass this bill. You donated to his campaign. You did this,” someone else added.
“Do you think you might’ve contributed to this problem by spreading the idea that you could significantly cut spending by focusing on waste, fraud and abuse? That’s simply not true. Trump says you can balance the budget without touching entitlements. Do you agree with that?” one person wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see if Trump responds.
