Herschel Walker, the Republican candidate for Senate in Georgia, is currently in one of the most brutal campaigns in the country against Democratic incumbent Reverend Raphael Warnock. The pivotal race could decide which political party controls America’s most powerful legislative chamber come January.
Over $241 million has been spent by both sides in the race. Polls show a statistical dead heat between the candidates with days until the election. Two women have accused Walker, a pro-life candidate, of financing their abortions, with the second accuser appearing on camera in her conversation with Good Morning America.
Walker, for his part, has denied the allegations. Former president Donald Trump absolved Walker in the scandal at a recent rally in Georgia.
Former president Barack Obama even weighed in on the race, recently saying that Walker was interested in being a celebrity and not much else. Walker has defended himself from the comments and sent another salvo toward Obama while appearing on this week’s episode of Sunday Morning Futures on Fox News.
“Well, my answer to Obama is, he got it wrong when he told us to vote for Joe Biden. He got that wrong, didn’t he?” Walker told host Maria Bartiromo, who inquired about what he’d say to the former president.
“And where has he been all this time?” Walker added. “He’d been in his nice mansion doing whatever he was doing. And now he’s coming down telling us to vote for Sen. Warnock, whereas Sen. Warnock has shown, as I have said, he’s a fake. He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He’s done nothing for the people, except evict them.”
The 2022 midterms will be held on Nov. 8th.
