Herschel Walker Herschel Walker, Republican candidate for Georgia Senate, speaks during a press conference on Friday September 16, 2022 in Port Wentworth, Georgia.

Earlier this month, Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker got quite a bit of attention when he made some absolutely bizarre comments on the campaign trail, comparing werewolves and vampires during a speech. The interesting comments even caught the attention of former United States president Barack Obama, who made fun of Walker as a result. But now, Walker is clapping back at the former president.

During the speech, the former Georgia Bulldogs star running back explained that he would rather be a werewolf than a vampire because “a werewolf can kill a vampire.” This prompted Obama to poke some fun at Herschel Walker during a speech, saying “This is a debate that I must confess I once had myself. When I was seven. Then I grew up.”

But during an interview with Fox News, Walker pushed back against Obama’s comments, accusing the former president of trying to mislead people.

“Well what’s sad is they’re always trying to mislead people,” Walker said of Obama. “Why don’t they tell the whole story? The whole story is the story involved people having faith, having faith and continuing to go out and do your job, having faith to get things done. So they don’t tell you the whole story.”

Walker trails incumbent Raphael Warnock in the final poll before Tuesday’s runoff election.
