A lot of people have accused Donald Trump of lying about something, but the former President could always count on Herschel Walker to stay in his corner. Until now.
According to Walker, a former NFL star who is now Georgia’s Republican nominee for Senate, Trump has lied about asking him to run. Walker made the claim during an interview with rapper Killer Mike for Revolt TV.
“One thing that people don’t know is President Trump never asked me,” Walker said. “I need to tell him that he never asked. I heard it all on television that he’s going to ask Herschel, saying Hershel is going to run. President Trump never came out and said ‘Herschel, will you run for that Senate seat?’”

“So, I’m mad at him, because he never asked,” Walker continued. “But he’s taking credit that he asked.”
Their relationship dates back decades, with Walker playing for Trump’s USFL team, the New Jersey Generals, from 1983 to 1985. Last June, Trump trumped Walker and announced the former Georgia Bulldogs running back would be running for senate on The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.
“He told me he’s going to, and I think he will,” Trump said. “I had dinner with him a week ago. He’s a great guy. He’s a patriot. And he’s a very loyal person, he’s a very strong person. They love him in Georgia, I’ll tell you.”
Walker didn’t launch his Senate campaign in Georgia until almost two months after Trump’s appearance on Travis and Sexton’s radio show. Instead of crediting Trump’s endorsement and encouragement, Walker told Killer Mike that he arrived at his decision through prayer.
Walker supported Trump during the 2016 and 2020 elections. And earlier this month, he even defended one of Trump’s biggest lies, bizarrely claiming the former President never said the 2020 election was stolen. But when it comes to his bid for Senate, Walker refuses to let Trump have all the credit.
