Herschel Walker, the former Georgia Bulldogs star turned Republican Senate candidate, lost one of the most brutal elections of the 2022 midterm cycle back in November.

The loss to Democratic incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock, however, continues to linger for the Republican Party in more ways than failing to control the legislative chamber.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) recently apologized for an ethics violation related to a time he solicited donations for Walker’s campaign while standing inside a federal building.

The Senate Ethics Committee wrote that the “committee finds that [Sen. Graham] did solicit federal campaign contributions and otherwise impermissibly conducted campaign activity in a federal building.”

Graham mentioned Walker’s website over five times in a plea on Nov. 30th, just a week before the Oct. 6th runoff.

“Go to team Herschel.com. If you can give five or ten bucks, it will help him close the gap,” he said.

Graham was quick to apologize for the error.

“It was a mistake. I take responsibility. I will try to do better in the future,” Graham told Politco in a statement.

The outlet went on to note that, “The public action against Graham is based on it being a repeat offense. The letter reveals that on October 14, 2020, Graham directly solicited campaign contributions for his own campaign committee…”
