Texas junior Senator Ted Cruz traveled to New York City on Sunday night to watch the Houston Astros finish their American League Championship Series sweep of the New York Yankees in a game that ended 6-5.
Cruz, who sat in open seating close to home plate, was quickly spotted in the Democratic hotbed of the Big Apple, and Yankees fans didn’t miss a chance to give the Senator a piece of their mind.

“F*** you, you r*cist piece of s***!” the unidentified Yankees fan can be heard yelling. “F*** you! F*** you, man! You f****** suck, dude! You go to go to f****** h***, dude! Remember when [former president Donald] Trump called your wife ugly? Remember that? Remember when Trump called your wife ugly and you nominated him? F*** you, you piece of s***! … Get out of New York!”
“You’re a disgrace!” Another Yankees fan can be heard yelling.
Cruz, for his part, seemed unperturbed by the screaming fans. The Texas Senator smiled and waved while he taking his playoff victory out of Yankee Stadium.
The Astros will face the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series. Game 1 is slated for Friday night in Houston.
