This week, 12-time NCAA All-American swimmer Riley Gaines made it quite clear where she stands in the debate on whether or not transgender female athletes should be allowed to compete in women’s sports, and revealed quite a hateful opinion on transgender people in general.
During an interview with Fox News, Riley Gaines absolutely blasted the idea of transgender women competing in women’s sports.
“If there’s one sport where the difference between male and female in terms of sheer strength and athleticism would shine, it’s powerlifting,” Gaines told Fox News’ America Reports on Thursday. “We know testosterone has an effect on performance, outcome and strength. Men, on average and this is not opinionated, it’s a fact, men on average are taller, they’re stronger, more powerful, faster than women. Again, to deny that is denying science. We have so much data and scientific evidence that prove this.”
Gaines also revealed a pretty hateful opinion when she appeared to deny the existence or the validity of the transgender community, making it clear that she thinks there are two genders with no exceptions and no spectrum.
“If you believe in science, you know there is man and woman,” Gaines said. “To deny that is to deny science, it’s to deny logic, it’s to deny reason and, quite frankly, common sense.”
