The 2024 Presidential race is on the horizon and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is seemingly putting his name in the running, with the financial backing of New York Mets owner Steve Cohen.

The news was broken on Twitter by Chris Ryan of 96.7 News Radio in New Hampshire.

“Scoop: Multiple sources with direct knowledge are telling me that Chris Christie will be announcing a run for President in the coming days. The campaign will be focused on New Hampshire and will have the financial backing of Mets owner Steve Cohen, among others.”

Christie served as the New Jersey Governor for two terms from 2010-2018. He is expected to be one of the main adversaries of former U.S. President Donald Trump in the Republican party as he tries to regain the presidency in 2024.

He has wasted no time in bashing Trump on social media in recent days, pointing out numerous failures in his eyes during Trump’s presidency.

“More nonsense from Donald Trump last night. Fact: He promised to build a big beautiful wall on the border. Fact: He did not deliver & immigrants are pouring over the border. Fact: He said Mexico would pay for it. Fact: We have not gotten one peso yet. He failed us on immigration.”

Many expected Christie to run in 2024 after being rumored to do so in the 2020 election. However, some were shocked to hear about Cohen’s involvement in his campaign.
