Budweiser has been in the headlines of late because of its support of the LBGTQ community, which has ticked off a lot of Conservatives. Many have vowed never to drink Budweiser again because of its stance, but ESPN NFL commentator Troy Aikman has a solution: Drink his new beer.

Aikman, the three-time Super Bowl Champion quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys in the 19990s, is promoting his beer “Eight” for those who don’t want their politics to mix with their beer.

“We wanted to get the message out there if you’re tired of all these points of view by all these big companies and you just want a company that’s focused on what it is that they do,” then EIGHT is for you.”

Aikman never stated where he stood politically, at least not in public, but it is kind of obvious to some that he might be more conservative than liberal. Although he never came out and endorsed anyone politically, it’s quite obvious who he is trying to appeal to, and fans on both sides of the aisle had plenty to say.

Some may agree with Aikman but won’t drink his beer because of his affiliation with a certain football team from the 90s.

Well, we will see if Troy Aikman and Bud Light’s strategy works.
