Battle of the Network Stars is coming back to airwaves and spanning the entire depth of TV history to form its teams. Among the stars lined up to appear on the revived competition show are Vivica A. Fox, Lou Ferrigno, Erik Estrada, Danny Bonaduce, and Kevin Sorbo.

Yep, it’s basically a who’s who of TV has-beens preparing to compete against one another for some sort of bragging rights among the TV industry. But who can blame any of them for taking on a paycheck for cashing in on past fame, right? We should all aim to reach such heights.

To branch out and draw more interest in the show, this updated version of Battle of the Network Stars will extend beyond the traditional networks and include stars from cable. In all, the new Battle of the Network Stars will include a whopping 100 stars from a variety of TV genres and eras.

There should be a little something for everyone at some point. You have a team of TV Moms & Dads, TV Lifeguards, TV Doctors, and of course a Variety category of stars to get those reality stars represented as well. And that’s just the tipping point. Entertainment Weekly has the full list of contestants and categories.

This show has always been about the cheese factor, so the cast of stars assembled should continue that theme as well. Just look at this archived photo collection from the original run, including Mr. T competing wearing his signature gold chains.

The new show will be airing this summer with Mike Greenberg and Joe Tessitore serving as the hosts and DeMarcus Ware and Ronda Rousey taking on the roles of team captains.

The incredible mustard blazers that Greenberg and Tessitore will be rocking need to be seen to be believed.

The show will air its first episode on June 29 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC.

3 thoughts on “Battle of the Network Stars revival will be a who’s who of TV has-beens

  1. Based on the stubble, this must be “fun” Mike Greenberg hosting this

  2. I don’t think I could name more than a couple of network shows, never mind any of their “stars”.
